We encourage you to join DNACA in empowering the next generation by mentoring high school students, where your guidance can significantly enhance their educational outcomes and uplift the socioeconomic status of families in the Portsmouth Community and beyond.
Here’s what we expect from our mentors:

Monthly Meetings: Engage with your mentee for at least one hour per month, or as mutually agreed, to provide consistent support.

Positive Guidance: Help scholars make informed decisions, form strong personal values, and realize their full potential.

Network Building: Assist in expanding personal networks that can open doors for scholars’ future opportunities.

Goal Setting: Work with mentees to set realistic goals and create strategies to achieve them.

Academic Coaching: Discuss academic strengths and weaknesses, offering guidance on how to improve and succeed.

Engaging Activities: Incorporate fun and educational activities to strengthen your relationship and keep interactions dynamic and enjoyable.

Empowerment: Empower mentees to take active roles in setting the agenda for meetings and activities, ensuring their voices are heard.

Support and Respect: Offer a supportive ear for all aspects of life and respect the trust placed in you by your mentee.

Progress Tracking: Maintain records of your mentee’s progress and coordinate with DNACA for additional support and resources.
